2. Corporate CSR Funds

Companies with net profit above ₹5 crore must spend 2% on CSR (Companies Act, 2013). Cycling qualifies under:

  • Schedule VII, Item (i): Promoting health care including preventive health
  • Schedule VII, Item (x): Rural/urban development projects
  • Schedule VII, Item (ii): Promoting education (girls' cycling programs)

How to approach:

  1. Google "[Company name] CSR report" — find their CSR focus areas
  2. Match your project to their stated CSR themes
  3. Email the CSR head with a 2-page proposal (template below)
  4. Follow up after 1 week by phone
  5. Be ready to submit a detailed project proposal if they're interested

Target companies: Look for companies headquartered in your city. IT companies, manufacturing firms, banks, and FMCG companies have the largest CSR budgets.
